Fostering Together at the New Romney Country Fayre

A (nearly) sunny week of Kent events!

While we've had a bit of a wet summer so far, it hasn't stopped us from getting out to talk to our local communities about fostering!

On Thursday we were invited to PACT in the Park in Dartford, an event put together by Kent PACT and the Kent SEND Information Hub for the local parent and carer community. Matt, Neil, Hannah and the inflatable Mr Boogie set up a stand with lots of activities for kids as we chatted to parents, carers and support workers about fostering. it was a great day we counted ourselves very lucky... Some dark clouds just about held together all day, but it didn't quite rain!

Next we had an amazing time at the New Romney Country Fayre, joining alongside local businesses, craftsmen and charities to build the Fostering Together community on the South East coast. It was an impressive day startng with a parade by local groups before everyone was set loose on the local food, craft, charity and business stalls. We had an amazing location too with a great view of all the performances throughout the day, which included a labrador show, birds of prey, drumming troupe and superhero acrobatics! It was a super fun time and we had a great day chatting to local people - though we were surprised to hear how far some people had travelled down from!

The parade down New Romney High Street. The drumming troupe is dressed in coordinated colours, wearing red shirts and bright yellow trousers. The parade also included emergency services as well as local youth groups such as the cadets and also dance groups.A much sunnier stand in New Romney. The Fostering Together pink gazebo houses all of the information ona. pink table. To the righ of the gazebo is a flag saying 'Discover a rewarding career as a foster carer'. Neil is chatting to someone at the front of the gazebo. To the left, a local business is selling indoor grown plants.
