Fostering in the East Midlands

Fostering in the East Midlands

Fostering Together already supports families who foster children across the East Midlands, and we're recruiting for families to join us across Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Peterborough & Rutland, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Our local communities access local support groups, training opportunities, and work with specially trained support workers recruited in their area.

Our Foster Carers also benefit from priority access to specialists and professionals, including those in healthcare and education.

You too can join your local Fostering Together community in the East Midlands.

If you alreay foster a child who has a disability, join a community of like-minded families who share your experiences.

Spending time with you all instantly ignited my passion, pride, and positivity you feel when belonging to a true fostering family community. We are so excited to be coming onboard for the journey.  – Carl, Foster Carer in Lichfield

Children come into foster care for a variety of reasons. A family illness, breakdown/problems at home, or a situation where they are neglected or at risk can lead to social services intervening to safeguard and promote a child's welfare.

Sometimes a parent may struggle alone or have an inadequate home environment to meet the needs of a child with disabilities or complex medical needs.

As a result of their life experiences, a child coming to live with you will need extra support to create secure attachments to you. Fostering Together will help and provide training and support on how to be the best foster carer you can be.

Although at times it can be challenging, our community of foster carers will tell you how rewarding it is caring for children with disabilities and how it positively impacts on their lives.
