Fostering Together Families go Cruising in Maidstone 🛥️

Submitted by fosteringtogether on 3 August 2022

With the Summer Holidays fully underway and children resting and relaxing at home, we're putting on our foster family Summer events as an opportunity for everyone to get together and have a bit of fun!

Our first event today was a fantastic idea brought up by families in their monthly support groups, so we listened and chartered a very special private cruise on the Kentish Lady, a river boat that tours the Medway from the Archbishop's palace to Allington Lock.

We enjoyed seeing the sights including the wildlife, the town, other boats as well as a peek through at Allington castle! Some of the kids also enjoyed joining the Skipper in the helm to sound the horn!

After the cruise, we had all worked up an appetite, so we took a trip to the park for a picnic and games. It was a great opportunity to get the big pink gazebo out again! We were blessed with lovely weather and a good shady spot, so we had a fantastic time eating, drinking, chatting, playing and enjoying some music together.
